New spring items have already arrived at Trader Joe’s, and we need them all
Now that spring has officially arrived, we can all look forward to longer days, warmer weather and more time outside in the sunshine. But for those of us who count Trader Joe’s among our favorite places to shop, there’s another exciting thing to celebrate: All the new seasonal items just hit store shelves!
As usual, we’ll see some returning TJ’s favorites, like the Chocolate Mousse Eggs and Coffee Bean Hold the Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones. (Yum.) But because the folks at Trader Joe’s know how much we love trying new things, they’ve apparently brought their A game this year regarding new additions.
Trader Joe’s Strawberry & Cream Gelato, $3.49/pint
According to the Trader Joe’s website, this new ice cream flavor is “intensely creamy, yet surprisingly refreshing” and “wondrously light, yet velvety and dense.” (In other words, it’s delicious.) Plus, it’s pretty authentic gelato — made right in Italy!
Trader Joe’s Meatless Cheeseburger Pizza, $5.99
Trader Joe’s always has incredible meatless options, but vegetarians will rejoice over this new meatless cheeseburger pizza, which promises to be a flavorful, filling and protein-packed dinner option. (Or a yummy party app bound to be a crowd-pleaser.)
Trader Joe’s Blueberry and Lemon Hand Pies, $4.49
Well, this looks mouth-wateringly good, doesn’t it? If you already know and love the seasonal Apple Pumpkin Hand Pies, these are basically the same thing, with a springtime twist. (Think: Bold fruit flavor wrapped in a buttery, flaky crust — all perfectly sized to fit in the palm of your hand.)
Trader Joe’s Perfectly Pickled Pups, $4.99
Pickle-flavored foods can be hit or miss, but let’s not forget the undeniable popularity of Trader Joe’s Chips in a Pickle. These delightful-looking apps (a unique spin on the classic finger food pigs in a blanket) took inspiration from another customer favorite: The Parmesan Pastry Pups.
Trader Joe’s Buffalo-Style Chickenless Wings, $4.69
Not to worry, vegans — there’s a new option here for you, too! These chickenless wings — smothered in that classic buffalo-style sauce — have the added bonus of having plant-based protein inside. Serve them at parties, with dinner or even for a fun snack; either way, we have a feeling they’ll be one of our new favorites.
