SPRING also has committed some seriously awesome prizes for the competition, in line with Startup SG

SPRING Singapore, as part of the Startup SG initiative dedicated to representing and growing the Singaporean startup/SME community, are set to be the official ASEAN host for Echelon TOP100 APAC 2018, a crucial partner as e27 works to bring together the greater-Asian tech ecosystem.

As Echelon TOP100 APAC 2018, which is presented by WeWork, travels across borders to the likes of Cambodia, Myanmar and Australia, SPRING and Startup SG will help connect the cities across the roadshow and help support startups as they navigate the infamously fractured region.

A key part of this is extensive support to help startups incorporate in Singapore. As the financial center of Southeast Asia, the city-state provides ample opportunities to meet investors, corporates and numerous business opportunities. It can be a daunting task to incorporate in a foreign country, but SPRING wants to help TOP100 startups kickstart the process.

“Singapore has always been the forefront of embracing new tech and supporting this movement since day 1, and it should be exciting for Founders to get connected to the government agencies that can help make incorporation possible,” said Jiaway Koh, the TOP100 Programmes Manager.

Furthermore, as startups pitch their hearts out and compete to attend the final TOP100 pitching competition at Echelon Asia Summit 2018, in June they will have some especially fantastic incentives.

Two winners of the grand finale pitching competition will receive up to S$50,000 (US$38,000) in grant money – each.

They will also be fast-tracked through the SLINGSHOT competition, providing another opportunity to pitch in front of Southeast Asia’s dynamic tech ecosystem.

To participate in SLINGSHOT, startups must meet the following qualifications:

  • Have a minimal viable product.
  • Show signs of traction.
  • They can have raised seed funding, but no more than S$5 million (US$3.8 million)
  • Have some technology or proprietary solutions

Startup SG represents the shared interests of the startup community and showcases Singapore as a world-class startup hub. It is the brand for all local initiatives and support schemes and also promotes global connectivity and partnerships. SPRING will soon be consolidated with IE Singapore to form a new agency named Enterprise Singapore.
