MARANG: Malaysians should put aside their religious and political differences in upholding the country’s sovereignty against external enemies.
Commenting on the current diplomatic woes between North Korea and the country, Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said it is crucial for the people to be united at this time.
“Whenever the country is facing a threat, we need to stay united despite our differences in religious beliefs and political backgrounds.
“This is because we shoulder the heavy responsibility in defending our country’s sovereignty,” he told reporters at the Rusila mosque here today.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries have become tense following the investigations into the murder of Kim Jong-nam at klia2 on Feb 13.
The Marang MP hoped the diplomatic woes between the two countries could be resolved promptly.
Hadi also hoped that the international community could apply pressure to salvage on the current situation.
