Stephen Shiu Jr. interested to sign Monnie Lee

29 Jun - Rumours are rife that film producer Stephen Shiu Jr. is interested in signing Miss Hong Kong dropout Monnie Lee to his company, China 3D Digital Entertainment.

As reported on On CC News, previously, the former pageant hopeful talked about her pride in being a daughter of a noodle shop owner, as well as her dream to work in showbiz.

Monnie admitted that unlike the others, she may not possess the best look, due to the hard labour of working at her parents' restaurant in her free time.

"My hands are rough and I can't keep my nails long due to work. They're not pretty if you look at them from a girl's perspective," she said.

Monnie also stressed that despite her dream of working in the entertainment industry, she won't do anything that she may regret later.

"My dad taught me to work hard for my money. It's better to earn money with my two hands and doing something that I like," she said.

While the 22-year-old didn't make it to the second round of interview, she was commended for being different from the other contestants.

When asked about his thoughts on Monnie, Stephen admitted that he was attracted to her personality.

"I admire her straightforwardness and her ability to reach out to different audiences. She speaks decently about her background and it was very touching."
