Stephy Tang to star in ViuTV's 2020 drama

16 Oct – Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang is set to star in a new ViuTV series, "Men's Volleyball Team" (working title).

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended an event held by ViuTV to announce its 2020 line-up at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center (KITEC), reveals that it is a dream come true for her to shoot a series about her favourite sports 15 years after her last television series.

Asked if ViuTV is paying her a huge sum for her television appearance, Stephy laughed and said that she accepted the offer due to the material, adding, "The most difficult thing is to get a good character and good script."

She added that for now, the drama will have 15 episodes and will begin filming in December.

When mentioned that she is also working with the members of the Hong Kong pop idol band, MIRROR, Stephy said that she still can't name every member and will learn to get to know all of them for the series.

On the other hand, Stephy said that she would not be able to attend this year's Golden Horse Awards despite being nominated in the Best Original Song category for her theme song, "My Prince Edward".

"I am happy for this recognition especially since it has been four years since I last recorded a song. But something came up and I would not be able to attend," she said.
