Police seized items stolen from a shop, after staff spotted them being raffled on Facebook.

Durham Police said the items, which included 36 Milkybar Gold bars, rump steaks and packets of pork loin steaks, were stolen from a shop in Aycliffe on Saturday.

The Facebook post, which was selling 50 raffle tickets for £1 each, stated: "Meats [sic] all in good date, back in my fridge."

A police spokesman said: "The officers tracked down the address where the items were being raffled from and seized the items."
