Storm Surge Leaves Streets Flooded in South Carolina as Hurricane Isaias Makes Landfall

Storm surges left streets inundated with water in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as Hurricane Isaias made landfall at the Carolinas on August 3.

The National Hurricane Center announced that the storm made landfall near Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina at around 11:30 pm on August 3 with wind speeds of up to 85 miles per hour.

Strong winds, heavy rainfall and a risk of tornadoes were forecast for the Carolinas and other states along the east coast on Monday night through Tuesday, the NHC said. Credit: bob.brockett via Storyful
