Strictly Come Dancing viewers have urged Hamza Yassin to have more confidence in himself after he commented that he thought he was "too big to jive".

The wildlife expert and cameraman had been riding high at the top of the week one leaderboard, but received a more subdued score of 24 points with partner Jowita Przystal in tonight's show for their jive.

After performing, he told host Claudia Winkleman: "I'm just too big for the jive," as she told him he definitely wasn't.

But viewers were appalled that Yassin couldn't see how good he was and told him not to body shame himself.

One person tweeted: "No I'm having a little cry at Hamza saying he's too big for the jive, someone cuddle him immediately."

Someone else added: "Hamza, do not body shame yourself, you’re great!! Protect him at all costs."

Another fan wrote: "Hamza saying he’s too big to jive. NO YOU AREN’T KING !!!"

One other viewer reassured him: "NO HAMZA!!!!!! YOU ARE PERFECT!!!! IT IS QUITE SIMPLY THE TROUBLE WITH HAVING TO DO A JIVE IN WEEK TWO!!!"

Viewers also agreed that as well as being a great dancer, Yassin seemed like one of the nicest contestants in the ballroom.

One person tweeted: "2 weeks in, had never heard of him before last week, but reckon Hamza is already one of my favourite contestants ever!"

Someone else added: "Hamza just seems like the loveliest guy."

Meanwhile, the judges told Matt Goss that they were distracted from his disco-themed performance to 'Night Fever' by a very tight-fitting pair of white trousers.

Talking about his thrusting at the judges, Anton Du Beke said: "For me, a gentleman of a certain age, that was a magical moment."

Craig Revel Horwood added: "Well, I was slightly distracted through the whole thing by those very tight white trousers which you unleashed on the nation."

Strictly Come Dancing will evict its first celebrity of 2022 in Sunday's show.
