KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V today launched the “Raja Kita” exhibition at the Royal Museum, in conjunction with his installation.

Present at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.

During her welcoming speech, Ermieyati said the four-month exhibition is held every five years to foster closer ties between the Agong and His subjects.

"It showcases the authority, functions and unique characteristics of Parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy (systems).

"Among the segments in the exhibition are the scope of the Agong’s power, his relationship with the people, (and a look at his personal side, such) as his pastimes and favourite outdoor activities.

"It is hoped that the programme will encourage the sharing of information and knowledge, which in turn would make the Royal Museum a reference centre and tourist destination," Ermieyati added.
