(Update) Sungai SKC tragedy: Sixth body found, father identifies as Mohd Ikhwan

RAWANG: Search and rescue (SAR) teams discovered the body of a boy at 11.15am this morning – 5km away from the Kampung Timah Sungai SKC bridge, where five schoolboys were killed and two went missing in a fishing tragedy on Friday.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Superintendent R. Supramaniam said the body, still fully-clothed, was found stuck to a tree in the waters of Sungai Selangor.

"The body will be brought to the Kuala Kubu Hospital for identification and a post mortem. We will bring the parents of the two boys still missing to identify the body," he said in a press conference at the search and rescue command centre here.

Kamarul Ariffin Osman, the father of 12-year-old Muhammad Aiman, however, strongly believes it is not his son who was found, based on the clothing of the body.

"It is not my son. The boy found (is clad in) a blue and yellow collared T-shirt. My son always wore neck jerseys. I am confident it is not my son. I won’t go to the hospital to identify the body," he said.

Suhaili Sahi, the mother of Mohd Ikhwan Mohd Ridhuan, 10, was inconsolable and was whisked away from the command centre by family members.
