Sunny Chan's autistic son named top student
9 Jul – Sunny Chan and Ada To are happy to know that despite having moderate autism, their seven-year-old son, Edgar can still perform well in his class.
According to On CC News, Edgar, who is enrolled in a mainstream primary school, recently ranked first place in his grade level, enabling him to receive his certificate of excellence at the school's 19th Annual Graduation Ceremony.
Happy with her son's achievement, Ada, however, was more delighted that they have proved that autistic children can have a bright future like normal kids.
"Ranking doesn't matter. It is more important to show that autistic children are not hopeless and they also deserve to have mainstream education like the other children," said the actress.
"They may not be able to learn social skills as quickly as the others, but they can find different ways to communicate," she added. "That way, they can have their own happiness."
