When it comes to weddings, it seems there’s a growing list of things that are becoming banned like confetti, phones and even kids.

Princess Eugenie is just the latest bride-to-be to jump on the banning bandwagon, revealing she has prohibited one very specific thing from her big day.

The 28-year-old is in the final stages of planning her October 12th wedding day to wine merchant Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, and has opened up about a big decision she and her fiancé have made.

The environmentally-conscious royal has decided she wants her nuptials to be completely plastic free, after making the choice to do her same in her day-to-day life.

“My whole house is anti-plastic now – and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well. We’ve got to look after this planet,” Eugenie told British Vogue.

It’s an issue that’s clearly dear to Eugenie’s heart.

The royal recently became an ambassador for Project O, a charity committed to protecting the ocean from plastic.

Going plastic free is something the British royals feel strongly about.

In February, the Queen banned plastic straws and bottles from royal estates, with reports straws will be phased out from staff dining rooms and caterers will be required to use china plates and glasses.

“Across the organisation, the royal household is committed to reducing its environmental impact,” said a spokesman for Buckingham Palace.

“As part of that, we have taken a number of practical steps to cut back on the use of plastics. At all levels, there’s a strong desire to tackle this issue.”
