Survey reveals the top fast food chains for customer satisfaction

Chick-fil-A was voted favorite Quick Service chain

America’s favorite fast food chain is a chicken joint that most people outside the US have never heard of.

Inside fast food nation, however, Chick-fil-A has succeeded in developing a loyal and growing fan base, outranking stalwarts such as McDonald’s and Pizza Hut in a new ranking of customer satisfaction.

In the 2015 edition of the American Customer Satisfaction Index, the restaurant chain best known for its fried chicken sandwiches recorded not just the highest score (86), but also the highest score for a fast food chain to date in the ACSI index.

Not far behind is Chipotle, followed by Panera Bread, Papa John’s, and Pizza Hut.

The results are all the more impressive given that both Chick-fil-A and Chipotle make their debut on the list this year.

The index is based on the results of more than 5,020 surveys collected in the first quarter of 2015.

Overall, the report also revealed that US consumers are growing increasingly disgruntled from the year before, with satisfaction levels in fast food chains dropping nearly 4 percent from 2014 -- the lowest score in five years.

The fast food chains that recorded the biggest drops? The four major pizza chains -- Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Papa John’s and Domino’s -- which lost between five to eight percentage points in the last year.

At the other end, the only fast food chain to record a spike in customer satisfaction is Dunkin’ Donuts, which jumped ahead of Starbucks.

Landing at the bottom of the heap is McDonald’s.
