The Sweet Meaning Behind James Middleton's Son's Name
Kate Middleton's brother, James Middleton, is officially a dad! This week, James and his wife, Alizee Thevenet, were photographed pushing a stroller in London—confirming that the couple had welcomed their first child: Inigo Middleton.
James just shared their baby boy's name on Instagram, along with a few sweet snaps of the newborn. "He has been in our lives for just a few weeks but they have been the most special of my life getting to know our beautiful baby boy," James wrote. "No matter how prepared I thought I was…I was not prepared for the overwhelming emotion of meeting Inigo for the first time and the love for my darling Alizée as we became three."
He added, "We would like to thank the wonderful team at Basingstoke hospital, from the very first scan to walking out the front door for the first time as three, we couldn’t have felt more supported and looked after throughout so thank you NHS."
James and Alizee's baby boy, Inigo, is Carole and Michael Middleton's seventh grandchild, and definitely the most unusual name among the bunch. Inigo is a name of Spanish and Basque origin (the Castilian spelling is Íñigo), according to Nameberry. In some translations, it means "fiery," and in others, it means "my little (love)." So, James and Alizee's new baby is a fiery youngster, or perhaps their little love.
Inigo is perhaps most associated with Mandy Patinkin's character in The Princess Bride, Inigo Montoya.
