T'ganu appoints new CID chief as former head's tenure ends

KUALA TERENGGANU: Former state Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah has ended his three-year tenure in the state with great memories.

Abd Aziz who gained a good media reputation, completed his duty in the state with a handing over baton function at the Kuala Terengganu police contingent today.

He said working in the state was the most wonderful experience for him.

“I have no regrets as everybody here works as a team,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid has been appointed as the new State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief, taking over Abd Aziz’s role.

State police chief Datuk Aidi Ismail who witnessed the event said Abd Aziz has been promoted as the Chief Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigation Department in Bukit Aman.

As for 38-year-old Fazlisyam, Aidi said the former Special Task Force for Anti-Vice, Gambling and Gangsterism (Stagg) chief Supt in Bukit Aman, is among the youngest senior officers in the force here.

Aidi who witnessed the event said Fazlisyam is capable in carrying out Abd Aziz’s excellent duty.
