Haka video for NDP taken down after being ridiculed on social media
A video from Keppel Corporation featuring its employees imitating the haka – an ancient New Zealand Maori war dance – has been taken down from the NDP Facebook page after it received criticism for being disrespectful to the Maori culture. This comes after a torrent of comments on the Facebook post accusing the video of cultural appropriation. The video was an entry for the NDP cheer competition which pits companies, government agencies and schools against each another.
