A Taiwanese woman living in Singapore was taken to court on Friday (5 May) for allegedly assaulting a security guard, attempting to assault a taxi driver and allegedly abusing them verbally.

The incident was documented in two videos that went viral on 8 December last year.

Dina Huang Chih Yung, 30, allegedly attempted to assault taxi driver Cheng Teck Wei and allegedly verbally abused him outside the Skysuits@Anson condominium at Enggor Street on 7 December at about 11pm.

She is also accused of assaulting female security guard Jeiv Anay Alimthu. Huang allegedly bit, hit and kicked her.

In one video of the incident, Huang was heard speaking in Mandarin, English and Cantonese and at one point said, “I have a lot of money.” A man, believed to be Cheng, was also heard saying, “She said she got money, don’t want to pay.”

In a second video, Huang was seen being involved in another scuffle with Cheng, Jeiv Anay and a restaurant worker.

Huang was seen kicking Jeiv Anay in the groin area. Towards the end of the video, Jeiv Anay was seen showing her wounds.

Huang faces a jail term of up to two years and a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted of assault. If convicted of being verbally abusing, Huang faces up to six months’ jail and a fine of $5,000 for each count.
