SINGAPORE — The 26-year-old woman who suffered severe burns to her body in her attempt to rescue her boyfriend in the fatal Tanjong Pagar crash left the intensive care unit on Tuesday (23 February) and is in stable condition, 10 days after she was admitted into the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Raybe Oh Siew Huey, 26, is currently in a high dependency ward, the hospital said in response to media queries from Yahoo News Singapore.

Her boyfriend, Jonathan Long, 29, who was driving the BMW M4 coupe, was believed to be speeding before crashing the car into a vacant shophouse at 37 Tanjong Pagar Road, where it burst into flames at about 5.40am on 13 February.

He was killed, along with four male passengers in the car: Eugene Yap, 29, Elvin Tan Yong Hao, 28, Wilson Teo Qi Xiang, 26, and Gary Wong Hong Chieh, 29.

The police said it was the highest number of people killed in a single traffic accident in the past decade.

Oh was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, which was uploaded by security system company E3N Security, rushing to the burning car shortly after the crash.

Seconds later, she could be seen emerging from the blaze completely engulfed in flames and running to the opposite side of the road.

Oh suffered 80 per cent burns to her body, but was conscious when she was conveyed to the SGH in an ambulance.

E3N Security last Wednesday apologised for uploading unedited CCTV footage of the crash on their Facebook page as a result of an "administrative error".

"This mistake has caused unnecessary suffering for the victims’ families and we would like to apologise for our mistake and acknowledged that it is insensitive to show the full clip of Ms Oh in distress and we would like to inform all others to refrain from sharing the full clip," it said.
