If you're expecting to see Taylor Swift at the 2020 Grammy Awards, it looks like the pop icon won't be attending music's biggest night this year.

CNN has confirmed that Taylor will not be attending the show, according to a source close to the singer. While they weren't able to confirm why Taylor decided to skip out on the award show, the news is pretty shocking due to her multiple nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Although it wasn't previously announced, Variety also reports that Taylor was going to put on a special surprise performance of her latest single "The Man". However, it's been scrapped since she no longer will be attending the show.

Even without her being at the awards show, it's already been a big week for Taylor. She recently premiered her brand new documentary, Miss Americana, at Sundance Film Festival. The documentary will be released on Netflix on January 31 and goes behind the scenes over the last several years as she worked on new music.

It's not too surprising to hear that the singer will be taking a step back from the Grammy Awards, especially since she recently revealed she won't be doing a big tour for her latest album, Lover, due to her mother's health.

"I mean, we don’t know what is going to happen. We don’t know what treatment we’re going to choose," she told Variety. "It just was the decision to make at the time, for right now, for what’s going on."
