Teenager arrested on suspicion of murder after man is attacked near park in Derbyshire

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was attacked in Derbyshire.

The 49-year-old victim died after being found in a critical condition near Alfreton Park, off Wingfield Road, on Thursday evening.

Police were called to the scene at around 10.40pm.

The man was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon.

Police have not revealed the man’s exact injuries.

Detectives have appealed for the public’s help following the arrest of the teenager.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

They should quote incident number 1268 of January 23 when contacting police.
