KUALA NERUS: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman urged the people not to be taken in by the lies and false promises of the opposition.
“I do not want the rakyat to be cheated. You and your children will suffer for generations to come if you make the wrong choice.
“The opposition is full of empty promises and false accusations, just to fish for votes. Do not be duped by their tactics,” he said at “An Evening with the Terengganu Menteri Besar by Felcra Bhd’ at the TH Hotel in Gong Badak.
Present was Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who is also Kinabatangan member of parliament.
Razif said only Barisan Nasional, which had been in power since 1957, could provide a better future for the people.
“BN has done a good job all along, which has been acknowledged by world leaders.
“Therefore, the opposition wants to seize the opportunity to reap the fruits of BN’s labour by aspiring to win the election,” said Razif.
He reminded the people of Terengganu of what had transpired after the opposition came into power in the state after the election in 1999.
“Don’t you remember how they (the opposition) victimised many of us by venting revenge?
“Do you want this to be repeated? So, think carefully when casting your vote,” he said, as he referred to the turmoil in some Muslim countries in the Middle East.
On Felcra’s performance, Razif said the authority had paid dividends totalling RM65 million between 2013 and 2017.
Meanwhile, Bung Mokhtar urged his staff to continue to back BN which had looked after their welfare. He said the opposition had nothing to offer them.
“BN and Umno are structured organisations which have proved themselves since 1957.
‘And they will do so for another 1,000 years,” said Bung Mokhtar. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
