Woman terrified after 'waking up alone on dark plane'

A woman has described the horror of waking up alone, locked in a dark plane, after she claims she was left behind after falling asleep on a flight.

Tiffani Adams had somehow slept through the 90-minute flight and disembarkment of an Air Canada flight from Quebec to Toronto on June 9.

She took to Facebook to tell her unbelievable account of waking up in “pitch black” thinking it was a bad dream, then trying to find a way to escape the locked plane.

“As someone with an anxiety disorder as is I can tell you how terrifying this was,” she wrote on the post shared to the Air Canada Facebook page on Thursday.

“I think I’m having a bad dream [because] like seriously how is this happening!!?”

The panicked passenger called a friend but her phone died within about a minute of the call.

There was no power on board the plane, so Ms Adams said she stumbled about in the dark until she found a torch in the cockpit.

The woman said she eventually found a way to open the locked door and called out to a man driving a luggage cart about 15 metres below, who raised the alarm.

“He [asked] how the heck they left me on the plane,” Ms Adams wrote.

“I’m wondering the same.”

Ms Adams said being forgotten on the plane had left her with recurring “night terrors”.

An Air Canada spokesperson told The Independent the airline was reviewing the incident and was in contact with the passenger.
