Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot teases first look at new Leatherface in poster
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot has teased a first look at the new Leatherface.
The new film will be a direct sequel to the 1974 original — bypassing all the later reboots, remakes and prequels à la the 2018 Halloween reboot — and it now officially has its first teaser poster too.
"In 2021, the face of madness returns," a tweet shared by Rotten Tomatoes teased as it revealed a first look at the new poster for the film.
While details about the new film are scarce, the poster did reveal that a new website has now been set up and confirmed that Texas Chainsaw Massacre is currently slated for a 2021 release – and it teased a chilling premise too.
"In 1974, the world witnessed one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history," the poster reads. "In 2021, the face of madness returns."
The poster also features a cool 'dancing Leatherface' Easter egg too, which can be spotted in the shadow on Leatherface's chin, in a direct nod to the ending of the original movie — as seen below:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is poised to star Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner) and Moe Dunford (Vikings).
The Leatherface first-look follows the film shutting down production in Bulgaria for a week amid a huge behind-the-scenes shake up.
In August, directing duo Andy and Ryan Tohill were pulled from the project and replaced by David Blue Garcia.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is due for release in 2021.
