T'ganu pedestrian killed after running into parked motorcycle

HULU TERENGGANU: A 22-year-old pedestrian was killed when he ran into a parked Honda EX5 motorcycle, which then tipped over and crushed him as he lay on the ground.

The incident occurred near a business premises at Pekan Ajil here, yesterday evening.

The body of the victim, identified as Mohamad Adhar Abd Aziz, from Kampung Bukit Acheh, Matang here, was discovered by a passing shopper at about 4.40pm.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Adli Mat Daud said police have scrutinised closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident, which shows the victim running at high speed before colliding into the Honda EX5, which then toppled onto him.

“We have yet to determine why Adhar was running. The CCTV footage only captured the moment he collided into the motorcycle at the scene," Adli added.

He said the victim suffered wounds on his head and was sent to the Hulu Terengganu Hospital for a post mortem.

The case will be classified as soon as the post-mortem is completed.
