Marshmello seems to be one of those musicians who are really in it for the hits while still opting to stay anonymous. This EDM singer and DJ are known for hits like "Happier" with Bastille and "Wolves" with Selena Gomez, but he's also known for always sporting a large white marshmallow-shaped headdress. But here's the backstory on the 'real' Marshmello and why he won't reveal himself.
The 'real' one gets introduced subtly
Marshmello is an American electronic music artist who came to fame after remixing DJ Jack U and DJ Zedd's tracks. His music was shared on SoundCloud, and his gentle, mellow style attracted thousands of fans. Marshmello soon became a significant money-maker at live shows.
He released his wildly successful debut album 'Joytime' in January 2016. Two of the album's most famous songs were Alone and Keep It Mello. In 2017, Marshmello collaborated with Khalid on the album Silence. Later that year, he collaborated with Selena Gomez on the song Wolves, which became one of his biggest hits.

Marshmello and Chris Comstock may be the same person
Moe Shalizi, Marshmello's manager, talked to Forbes in November 2018 about the DJ's desire to create a brand that appealed to people of all ages. "We were dreaming about how to build a common character with Mello."
Marshmello's latest logo was designed with Shalizi's help, and it was a big hit. According to Forbes, Marshmello and Chris Comstock are the same people. According to the post, Skrillex referred to Marshmello as Chris, as Chris and Marshmello have the same leg tattoo.

Despite his refusal to speak with journalists, Forbes notes that Marshmello did make video contact with them, implying that he would never wholly reveal himself. When asked whether he would ever take off his helmet, he responded with two thumbs down. He later tweeted, "I don't take my helmet off because I don't want or need fame." Is Marshmello capable of taking off his helmet in front of a crowd? About the fact that Comstock would gladly serve Dotcom, it appears that he will never admit to being the man behind the Marshmello mask.
