KAMPAR: Three men were killed after they were ejected from a pickup truck in a crash near Simpang Pulai toll plaza, here, this morning.

Police said the victims, identified as Nishan Singh Dillon, 30, Rajminder Singh, 26, and Gurdi Singh, 28, were pronounced dead at the scene in the 4.40am incident.

The 40-year-old driver of the lorry that was hit by the truck, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment.

Kampar police chief Superintendant Ng Kong Song said initial investigation revealed the pickup truck, heading towards Kampar, had slammed into the right side of the lorry, causing both vehicles to skid.

"The lorry ended on its side while the pickup truck spun.

"The impact threw the three victims out of the truck," he said when contacted.

Ng said the victims' bodies have been sent to Kampar Hospital for post mortem.

He said police were investigating the case under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
