BATU PAHAT: Three motorcyclists were killed when their vehicles collided at KM1.5 of Jalan Simpang Lama-Parit Sulong here, this morning.

Hamirul Neeza Abdul Rahman Justin, 20; Muhamad Hamizi Isak, 18; and Muhammad Fikri Zulhizir, 18, died at the scene in the 2am accident.

It is learnt that the mishap occurred when Hamirul Neeza and Muhammad Hamizi were riding separately from Parit Sulong to the town centre here, while Muhammad Fikri was heading in the opposite direction.

“According to an initial investigation, Hamirul Neeza’s motorcycle collided head-on with Muhammad Fikri’s.

“Meanwhile, Muhammad Hamizi, who was riding a short distance behind Hamirul Neeza, was unable to avoid the two motorcycles and crashed into them.

“Hamirul Neeza was thrown from his vehicle as a result of the impact and slammed into a tree on the side of the road, while Muhamad Hamizi was catapulted to the road shoulder.

“Muhamad Fikri, meanwhile, landed in the middle of the road,” said Batu Pahat police chief Superintendent Mender Singh, who added that the three bodies were sent to the Sultanah Nora Hospital (HSNI) for post mortems.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
