TI9 Dota 2 Day 3 updates: Chaos Esports crash out

With 18 teams from across the world currently gathered in Shanghai to compete for the biggest prize of all in Dota 2, all eyes are on this grand dame of esports events.

However, two of the 18 teams will not make it past the Group Stage and into the Main Stage held in the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Yahoo Esports looks at the results of the Southeast Asian teams competing in TI9 right now.

TI9: Group Stage Day 3 Results

Filipino team TNC Predator had a good start to the day as they drew 1-1 with European team Secret, who are arguably one of the best performers in the group stage so far.

Philippines-based Mineski meanwhile lost 0-2 to Chinese team PSG.LGD, while Malaysia-based team Fnatic won 2-0 against CIS team Natus Vincere.

TNC Predator then drew 1-1 against Europe-based team Chaos Esports Club, while Mineski did a TNC Predator and successfully drew 1-1 with Secret too.

Fnatic subsequently lost 0-2 against defending champions Europe-based team OG, before Mineski ended the day by drawing 1-1 with Europe-based team Alliance.

First team to crash out of TI9

With a 1-1 draw against North American representative Newbee in their last series of the day, Chaos Esports Club from Europe have unfortunately crashed out of TI9.

Chaos Esport Club have Malaysian Cheng "vtFαded" Jia Hao as their Position 1 player but he won’t be making the main stage come 20 August.
