JOHOR BARU: Is PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua, contesting in Johor?
The word going around is that the Federal Territory Batu member of parliament is aiming to challenge Barisan Nasional heavyweights in Tebrau or Johor Baru.
Johor PKR deputy chief Jimmy Puah Wee Tse said he had heard about it but could not confirm whether it was true.
“Yes, I have heard such claims but I cannot confirm (if its happening),” he said.
The opposition coalition is said to have listed several names for the Johor Baru and Tebrau seats, including PKR Tebrau chief Steven Choong, Johor Baru PKR head Akmal Nasir and DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.
If Tian Chua were to contest in Tebrau that would spell trouble for Choong as he has been serving Tebrau folk for a long time. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
