KUALA KUBU BHARU: Pas will discuss a motion to review political cooperation or "tahaluf siyasi" with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) during the party's muktamar this Saturday.

Its deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the Islamic party would discuss the motion before making any decision on the matter.

"There are a few motions being fowarded, with one of them on whether the party will cut ties with PKR," he told reporters after the opening of Selangor Pas ijtima (gathering) here today.

It is learnt that several Pas divisions namely in Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu and Penang have passed a motion to terminate the cooperation with PKR.

Meanwhile, on Pas' intention to contest for 80 parliamentary seats against Barisan Nasional in the 14th General Election, Tuan Ibrahim said the matter was more of a "commitment rather than a certainty".

"We are not instructing other opposition parties to make way for us, but rather a commitment that we will contest for the seats if they are planning to contest at our seats."

On Saturday, Pas Ulama information chief Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali posted on his Facebook page saying that other opposition parties should make way for Pas to contest at 80 parliamentary seats against Umno.
