Oh hey all you cool cats and kittens! If you've become as invested in the circumstances surrounding Carole Baskin's missing ex-husband Don Lewis as us, you'll be happy to hear a Tiger King spin-off, which will take a deep dive into Don's disappearance, is officially in the works.

The new limited series, titled Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic, will appear on the Investigation Discovery channel, although we've not yet had a confirmed release date.

The channel said in a statement: "Love her or hate her, Carole is now in the centre ring of the big cat circus. Is she a selfless crusader and protector of animals, who found unimaginable strength despite the mysterious disappearance of her husband? Or are we witnessing Carole Baskin's master plan finally take effect?

They continue: "Did she orchestrate the disappearance of Don Lewis to seize control of his fortune, consolidate power and lay waste to her foes?"

ID says the show will highlight "the investigation you didn’t get to see, revealing the secrets only Joe knows and the exclusive footage that has never been shown."

Don Lewis went missing in 1997 and was pronounced dead five years later. She has always strongly denied having any involvement in his disappearance and, after Tiger King aired, Carole wrote a lengthy blog post slamming the "salacious and sensational" series.

"Don was not easy to live with and like most couples we had our moments," she said. "But I never threatened him and I certainly had nothing to do with his disappearance. When he disappeared, I did everything I could to assist the police."
