Tiger King has prompted local police to ask for new leads to help solve the case of Carole Baskin's missing ex-husband.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister is calling on the public and fans of the show to come forward if they have any new information.

Carole's husband, Don Lewis, went missing in August 1997 and was pronounced dead five years later, but his disappearance still remains a mystery.

"Since @Netflix and #Covid19 #Quarantine has made #TigerKing all the rage, I figured it was time to use the popularity of the show to see if anyone wanted to come forward with new leads," Chad shared on Twitter on Monday.

One extreme theory, which was a big part of Joe Exotic's hate campaign against her, is that Carole killed her husband and fed him to her cats. However, Carole has always maintained that she had no involvement with his disappearance and assisted the police with their search for her missing husband. Carole has also spoken out against the series in a post on her website titled, 'Refuting Netflix Tiger King.'

"There is no short, simple way to refute so many lies. If you do want to know the truth, it requires understanding the history of events in the years before my husband’s disappearance and the roles and behaviours of the people interviewed in the series," she wrote.
