Gordon Ramsay's daughter Matilda "Tilly" Ramsay is not afraid of the Strictly Come Dancing judges – because she says her father will always be her harshest critic.

The 19-year-old – who is appearing in the latest series of the BBC dance show – says her famously foul-mouthed celebrity chef father will give his opinion on her dancing.

Tilly, who has starred in her own cooking show for CBBC, told Yahoo UK: "I think I'll take criticism pretty well. I do live with one of the harshest critics in my house – Dad.

"So I'm pretty used to that kind of stuff. He'll probably give his own criticism at times. But you need criticism to learn."

But Tilly does not believe her TikTok experience will give her any advantage in the competition.

She said: "I think TikTok is a very different style of dancing – a lot of the time it's not really dancing.

"Maybe it's helped me prepare in terms of learning a routine. But they are really very short clips and the good thing about them is it's not live – so you can do that as many times as you need to."

And Tilly confesses she is extremely clumsy and hates wearing high heels.

She said: "I would describe my dancing style as awkward, uncoordinated and clumsy. I'm a very clumsy person."

Tilly added: "I hate high heels. I wore some to my birthday party and they were off within five minutes. They were too painful. Since then, I've never really put them back on.

"Recently I've been trying to walk around the house in some hills and get used to them. But after a couple minutes, my feet hurt and my slippers come right back on. I'd love to be able to do the waltz in slippers!"

The BBC celebrity dance contest is due to begin on Saturday 18 September.

Also taking part this year are BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker, McFly's Tom Fletcher, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, EastEnders stars Nina Wadia and Rose Ayling-Ellis and former Bake Off winner John Whaite.
