TN Govt organises ‘Baby Shower Ceremony’ for underprivileged pregnant women

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Sep 18 (ANI): The Tamil Nadu Government organised social Valaikappu (baby showering) for underprivileged pregnant women of all castes, creeds, and religions as part of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) to keep their brains and bodies healthy. The Samuthaya Valaikappu is a traditional custom of Tamil Nadu which is observed during the 8th-month of pregnancy. However, underprivileged families struggle to organise Samuthaya Valaikappu due to financial constraints.
