TNC Predator on Wednesday (11 November) fined carry player Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte for making sexist remarks towards a female player in a public ranked match the day before.

Gabbi was first called out for his behaviour by Malaysian streamer Tiffany “Hishiko” Teoh in a now-deleted post on the Dota 2 subreddit.

The exchange spilled over to a now-deleted Twitter thread, where it was revealed that Gabbi’s comments were prompted by Hishiko arguing repeatedly with one of Gabbi’s teammates in their pub match.

Hishiko and Gabbi’s teammate had apparently been arguing in another match prior to the one where Gabbi made his comments.

Gabbi has since apologised to Hishiko for his comments.

TNC said in a post on their official Twitter account that Gabbi has been fined an undisclosed amount and that they will be “taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again”.

“As a professional player, he has the responsibility to be a role model to his audience, especially to the Dota 2 community,” TNC said.
