Top Negros drug supplier to name alleged narco protectors

The arrested number 1 drug personality in Region 8, Ricky Sereño

Police chief superintendent Renato Gumban confirmed the arrested number 1 drug personality in Region 8, Ricky Sereño, will put in his affidavit the names of cops, judges, politicians, media personalities, PDEA agents and other law enforcers who are alleged protectors of illegal drugs in the region.

“Except sa mga pulis may binigbyan siyang judges sa court. May sinabi siya sa PDEA; Siya ang ni-recommend namin na number one sa drug watch list target personalities,” P/CSupt. Gumban said.

(Except from cops, he was giving us names of court judges, PDEA members. He is the one we recommended to be first on the drug personalities and targets watch list.)

Sereño had initially confirmed the involvement in illegal drugs of several cops who are now posted in ARMM and CARAGA Region.

Sereño is a member of the so-called ‘Berya Drug Group’ that supplies illegal drugs in the region.

The joint operatives of the Regional Operations Task Group and Special Action Force arrested him last week after he was served with a warrant of arrest for a grave coercion case.

All the personalities Sereño will name will undergo Oplan Tokhang and will be strictly monitored by the police.

“I-forward namin ‘yan kay President (Duterte), Si President na bahala magsabi ng pangalan nila sa media ulit,” Gumban added.

(We will also forward it to the president and he’ll be the one to announce the names to the media.)

Sereño said their illegal drug supply comes from Marawi City in Mindanao.

The contrabands are placed in the spare tires of vehicles to avoid x-ray machine detection.

“We put carbon to the spare tires to avoid detection of x-ray. You cover the item with plastic and rugby and cover it again with carbon. You also cover the tires with carbon,” Sereño revealed.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police said all the cases against Sereño might be dismissed if he names all the personalities involved in illegal drugs.

His affidavit is expected to be available by Thursday. — Aga Caacbay | UNTV News & Rescue
