Tottenham Hotspur welcome Newcastle United to London on Sunday, with each side entering the fixture in contrasting form.

Following the sensational news that Gareth Bale was returning to the club, Spurs proceeded to thump Southampton 5-2 at St Mary’s Stadium, with four goals from Son Heung-Min.

The Korean added another in the mid-week win in North Macedonia, with Harry Kane also finding the net as Tottenham advanced in the Europa League.

Steve Bruce will be hoping for a better showing from his Newcastle side after their dismal outing in the 3-0 home defeat to Brighton.

Here’s everything you need to know:

When is it?

The fixture will kick-off at 2pm BST at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

How can I watch it?

The match will be televised on Sky Sports Premier League, with coverage beginning from 1pm.

What is the team news?

Despite playing all 90 minutes in the Europa League win over Shkendija, Son Heung-Min will start after his four-goal outing against Southampton. Both new signings, Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, are expected to miss out, although the Spaniard could return soon once he has regained match fitness. Japhet Tanganga remains out with a hamstring injury.

Jamal Lewis and Allan Saint-Maximin are both doubts for Sunday’s trip to North London after they both picked up injuries in the defeat to Brighton. Defender Ciaran Clark is also a doubt after injuring his thigh in the dominant win over Morecambe in the League Cup. Fabian Schar is back in training but this fixture arrives too soon for the Swiss international. Martin Dubravka (ankle), Paul Dummett (knee), Matty Longstaff (thigh) and Dwight Gayle (knee) are all out.

Predicted line-ups:

Tottenham: Lloris, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Ndombele, Højbjerg, Lucas, Lo Celso, Son, Kane

Newcastle: Darlow, Manquillo, Lascelles, Fernandez, Lewis, Hendrick, Shelvey, Hayden, Saint-Maximin, Almiron, Wilson

Odds:

Tottenham: 4/9

Draw: 7/2

Newcastle: 13/2

Prediction:

With the duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min continuing to impressively perform, it is difficult to look past a Tottenham side that are keen to generate momentum. However, they usually struggle against teams like Newcastle, who drop deep, sit tight and play on the counter. In fact, Newcastle have won four of their last six league trips to Spurs, but I don’t think this run will continue. 2-0 Tottenham.
