Trains on the North South Line were delayed again early Friday morning (27 October). SMRT announced on Twitter before 6am that due to a track fault, southbound commuters should add 20 minutes train travel time from Ang Mo Kio to Bishan.

SMRT subsequently tweeted that free regular bus services were being provided between Ang Mo Kio and Marina South Pier stations.

Not long after that, it announced that train services had resumed and the free bus services had ended around 7.07am.

The North South Line was hit by a track fault earlier this week, causing delays during the morning rush on Wednesday (25 October). Because rectification work could only happen during non-service hours, trains on the line were running at slower than normal speeds.

Wednesday’s delay came after another unrelated delay occurred on the East West Line on Tuesday.
