Welcome to the Evening Standard's FA Cup coverage of Tranmere vs Manchester United LIVE.

United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately need a win to lift the gloom surrounding the club of late, but they could be in for a tough FA Cup test this weekend at Tranmere Rovers.

United have lost their last two Premier League games 2-0 - away at Liverpool and at home to Burnley - and League One Tranmere will fancy their chances of a cupset on a winter-worn pitch at Prenton Park on Sunday, especially after knocking out Watford on Thursday.

Prediction: Tranmere 1-2 Man Utd

Rovers will likely start brightly, and will look to put their visitors under pressure - especially from set-pieces. However, United should have enough about them to reach the next round.

Team news

Man Utd: Victor Lindelof should return from illness to ease United's defensive concerns, but Solskjaer is still light of options elsewhere.

Scott McTominay (knee), Paul Pogba (ankle), Axel Tuanzebe (thigh), Marcus Rashford (back) and Marcos Rojo are all definitely out, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah is on the mend.

With United failing to score in their last two games without Rashford, Mason Greenwood is almost certain to start in attack.
