TransCanada reports 4Q loss

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ TransCanada Corp. (TRP) on Thursday reported a loss of $244.2 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Calgary, Alberta-based company said it had a loss of 32 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 56 cents per share.

The energy infrastructure company posted revenue of $2.71 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported net income of $175.9 million, or 12 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $9.44 billion.

TransCanada shares have increased slightly more than 6 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 36 percent in the last 12 months.
