Transfer News LIVE! Kulusevski to Tottenham, Luis Diaz to Liverpool latest; Chelsea, Arsenal updates today

Transfer News - LIVE!

Tottenham are facing a third transfer heartbreak after Franck Kessie reportedly decided against a move out of Serie A, following failures in their pursuits of Luis Diaz and Adama Traore.

While Liverpool looked to have won the race for Diaz, fresh reports suggest Manchester United are now ready to enter the race.

Spurs are hoping to undertake a big revamp, which includes letting midfielder Tanguy Ndombele go. The Frenchman is close to a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain with non-league youngster Ollie Tanner one face set to arrive in north London. Having missed out on a number of deals, Juventus’ Swedish forward Dejan Kulusevski is the latest name to be linked.

In what looks like one of the biggest January deals of all time, Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic is set to complete his controversial move from Fiorentina to bitter rivals Juventus after undertaking his medical on Friday. The Gunners, however, are on the verge of a new signing in the form of goalkeeper Matt Turner, though Juventus and Barcelona are now said to be pushing for a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang loan.

Chelsea continue to be linked with Ousmane Dembele while long-term target Aurelien Tchouameni is now also of interest to Real Madrid.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have rejected interest from both Leeds and Monaco for rarely-seen forward Takumi Minamino and Aston Villa have captured Calum Chambers on a permanent deal from Arsenal.

Over at Manchester United, there is a shock suggestion that Marcus Rashford could be heading to PSG in the summer.

For their part, Newcastle are have agreed a deal to sign Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in the final days of the window.

Jesse Lingard urged to leave Man United

18:01 , Jonathan Gorrie

Speaking to Betfair, former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov urged Lingard to leave Old Trafford.

“Jesse Lingard also needs to go and find more game time. I was surprised that he didn’t stay at West Ham and they didn’t find a solution because he did so well there and I don’t know why he’s choosing to stay United if he he’s not going play.

“If United aren’t going to play him then I don’t understand why there are any problems with him leaving the club. Obviously, when you are from the academy and have spent much of your life at United, it’s difficult to let go and start a new chapter but I don’t think he should be afraid because, as he showed with West Ham, he can do it.

“He’s still under 30, so he has enough time to to play and enjoy football but just sitting on the bench at United, it’s obvious he isn’t going play, I cannot accept that.

“If he wants to go to the World Cup with England, he needs to find a solution quckly. Sometimes it’s easier said than done because I’ve been in the same situation. But he has to find a solution for his own good.”

Tanner to Tottenham latest

11:42 , George Flood

Here’s the latest on the Ollie Tanner to Tottenham front from Standard Sport’s Dan Kilpatrick...

Spurs have had a six-figure bid accepted by Lewes for non-League star Ollie Tanner, but a deal has yet to be agreed with the player.

The winger, 19, is also wanted by other Premier League and Championship clubs but Spurs have agreed a package worth around £100,000, which includes a sell-on fee of between 10 and 20 per cent for the Isthmian League Premier Division club.

Tanner has been training with Spurs’ development squad for the past fortnight, impressing coaches, but is yet to decide on his next club.

The teenager picked up an injury in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Cray Wanderers, which could complicate a move.

The 19-year-old non-league star has impressed while training with Spurs’ development squad over the past fortnight.

Crystal Palace chiefs are growing in confidence that a deal for the Netherlands international can be struck and are now negotiating a loan fee with their counterparts at Manchester United.

Should Palace get the deal for Van de Beek over the line, it is understood that there would be no option to buy included.

Crystal Palace close on Mateta deal

11:01 , George Flood

Crystal Palace are closing in on a deal to make Jean-Philippe Mateta’s loan move permanent, writes Jack Rosser.

The Eagles had been open to letting the French striker leave at the start of the month but an upturn in form has seen him climb the pecking order in Patrick Vieira‘s squad.

Mateta originally joined on loan from German side Mainz with an obligation to buy for £13million after a certain amount of starts for Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old will not hit that threshold but Palace still want to make the move permanent and have been in negotiations with Mainz over a reduced fee.

Talks are expected to continue today and it is thought that the two sides are close to agreeing a fee of around £8m. The former France Under-21 international has two goals and an assist in nine appearances for the south Londoners so far this season.
