If you've been looking for a way to spend the extra day you'll gain this leap year, Amtrak has you covered. This leap year, Amtrak is inspiring customers to go on an adventure by asking them to use their extra day to travel around the country. And of course, they're offering a deal we've waited four years for to do it.

Today through February 29th, customers will receive discounts of up to 50% for coach tickets to various locations around the United States. So if you've been dreaming of a vacation, now is the time! To receive the discount, trips must be booked between March 7th and April 8th, which means it's time to start packing your bags!

If you're not sure where to go, here's a start: travel on all segments of the Cascades, Heartland Flyer, Hiawatha, Illinois Services, Michigan Services, Missouri River Runner and San Joaquins, and on select segments of the California Zephyr, City of New Orleans, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief and Texas Eagle.

Several trips with origins in Chicago boast some of the best deals. Travel to St. Louis, MO for only $16 or head east with a $39 ticket to Buffalo, NY. Other incredible deals (or should I say steals!) include a $16 trip from Forth Worth, TX to Oklahoma City, OK and a $15 ride from Fresno, CA to Sacramento, CA. Talk about a deal!

With some tickets going for as low as $8.50 (Champaign, IL to Chicago, IL), this is a deal you won't want to miss.
