TVB issues new dress policies
17 Nov – It was revealed that TVB has recently issued a notice to all its artistes and production team of its new policies which include subjects such as proper dressing and nature of programmes.
As reported on Mingpao, among the highlights of the new guidelines distributed by TVB Executive Virginia Lok include the company's dress code, in which it encourages its artistes to dress appropriately in shows, and to ensure that there are no shots that are deemed too revealing.
This includes wearing a shirt over one's more revealing swimsuit in shows that involves water and water sports.
TVB also urges its production and drama team to drop intimate scenes and plots about rape from its dramas, and use a tacit form instead to express the scene if such a plot is necessary to the storyline.
In addition, the policy also calls for all female artistes to have a fellow female colleague to accompany them for any work trips outside of Hong Kong, provided there is no other female cast members or crew travelling with them.
Aside from that, TVB also encourages any artiste or staff to write a complaint directly to the company's internal review team for the top management to personally resolve, adding that the complainant's information will be completely confidential.
