Twitter is closing down Vine
Just three years after appearing on the scene, Vine is finished.
Twitter announced that the short looping video service which first surfaced in 2013 will be shutting down in the coming months.
The news comes after the microblogging site announced a round of layoffs as part of a restructuring move following another money-losing quarter.
In a blog post, Twitter says it will be discontinuing the mobile app in the coming months.
Users will be able to continue accessing and downloading their Vines for the time being and the website will remain online.
Users will be notified of changes as they come.
