Twitter index: Nathan Sykes trends, users count down to Christmas
Fans of British boy band The Wanted are trending the name of member Nathan Sykes on Tuesday, December 18, while elsewhere on Twitter microbloggers are looking forward to Christmas.
The Wanted formed in 2009 and consists of members Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes. The band has two albums out, 2010's self-titled effort and 2011's Battle Ground; a third album, Third Strike, is due out in 2013.
Nathan Sykes is trending in sixth position around the world on Twitter after being nominated by celebrity gossip site Celebritain.com for one of the many awards the site is distributing this year. Nathan has been nominated, along with One Direction's Zayn Malik, in the awards category "Best Celebrity Tweeter"; fans are encouraged to go online and vote, and winners will be revealed on Wednesday.
Elsewhere on Twitter users are counting down the days to Christmas, expressing what gifts they would like to receive this year, or, in some cases, complaining about the stresses this time of the year can sometimes bring.
