MALACCA: Two agricultural dealers were remanded for three days for alleged cheating over a land deal here.

The remand order, issued by Magistrate Analia Kamaruddin, is effective today until Wednesday.

The two friends, aged 29 and 54, who were wearing orange police lockup shirts, appeared at court at about 8.30am.

They will be investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

On March 14, it was reported that the two men, who were at the centre of a land deal scandal in Kelantan, told a press conference that they were innocent of any wrongdoing, and exonerated Ayer Keroh DAP assemblyman, Khoo Poay Tiong, from the scandal.

They came forward at the press conference to clear the air after the issue was heatedly discussed in the state assembly after being raised by Goh Leong San (Independent-Duyong) and answered by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
