Two dead after e-bike accident, trailer driver arrested

Two men have died following an accident involving a trailer and three power-assisted bicycles along West Coast Highway on Thursday (27 October) evening.

The 34-year-old male trailer driver was arrested for causing death by a negligent act, police said.

Police were alerted to the accident at 11.56pm on Thursday, while the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) dispatched two ambulances to the site of the accident at the junction of Pandan Crescent and West Coast Highway.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men aged 18 and 17 were conveyed to National University Hospital, where the former succumbed to his injuries.

The 17-year-old sustained minor injuries. All three casualties are male Chinese, said SCDF.

Police investigations are ongoing.
