SINGAPORE — Two people linked to a case involving a 29-year-old man who is accused of fatally assaulting his sister were charged on Wednesday (12 May).

Chee Mei Wan, 41, and Lim Peng Tiong, 62, were each handed one charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt with common intention to 19-year-old Huang Baoying by hitting her with a wooden pole.

The charge that Huang Bocan faces was amended on the same day to voluntarily causing grievous hurt to his sister in common intention with Chee and Lim, by hitting her with the pole on 4 May at about 11pm at a unit in a block along Clementi West Street 1.

Chee and Lim's relationship to the Huang siblings was not mentioned in court documents.

The trio were remanded for investigations. They will return to court on 19 May for their next mention.

A day after the alleged incident, the police was alerted to the case of unnatural death at about 6.30am.

Officers who arrived on scene found Baoying lying motionless. She was pronounced dead at the scene and Huang was arrested.
