KUALA LUMPUR: Two motorcyclists were killed when one of them crashed into a stalled Proton Gen-2 on the emergency lane of the KL-Seremban Highway during a suspected illegal race early today.

They were identified as Muhammad Iqbal Md Fauze, 17 who was killed on the spot and Nazim Mohd Tumirin, 21, who was pronounced dead at the Serdang Hospital.

Three others, including a passenger of the Gen-2, were seriously injured and have been sent to the same hospital for treatment.

Police said the group of four motorcyclists were believed to be racing when one of them slammed into the stalled vehicle at about 3.30am at KM297.6 of the highway.

After the crash, the three other motorcyclists lost control of their machines and crashed into one another.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Othman Nanyan said the passenger of the Gen-2 was changing a flat tyre at the emergency lane when the incident happened.

Police, he said, were still trying to ascertain which of the four motorcycles had crashed into the car.
