Protesters clashed with police outside the Ukrainian parliament on Monday as lawmakers backed the first reading of draft reforms giving greater powers to the pro-Russian separatist east. The clashes involving dozens of protesters broke out after parliament backed the reforms, with demonstrators also firing at least one smoke grenade, AFP journalists witnessed.
